How long will my initial appointment take?

An initial assessment with your cardiologist will take between 45-90 minutes.

What should I bring to my appointment?

  • Medicare/DVA card

  • Pension card

  • Private Health Insurance Card

  • Referral letter

  • Recent pathology and x-rays

  • List of current medications

  • Suitable sportswear (shorts) for exercise testing

  • Joggers for exercise testing

How do I make an appointment to the practice?

Appointments can be made by calling our phone line on xxx.

Patients are usually seen on referral from General Practitioners and Specialists. To be eligible to claim a Medicare rebate from the government you need to be both eligible for Medicare and have a current referral.

What if I require an interpreter?

If any patient is experiencing language difficulties, please inform our staff and our reception staff can organise an interpreter for your consultation, interpreters may be booked either on site or over the telephone.

What if I can not attend my appointment?

f you are unable to attend your appointment it is in your own interests to ring and make another time without delay. That way we can also make the vacated appointment available to another patient. Waiting times for appointments to see our heart specialists can be kept to a minimum if all vacant appointments are made available to patients.

Please be aware that a non- attendance applies if you fail to cancel the appointment in advance.

How can I access my medical records?

Patient records are protected by our compliance with all privacy legislation and the guidelines of relevant professional bodies such as the AMA.

A request for access to your medical record should generally be directed to your treating cardiologist.
